G-Dragon Slammed For “Embarrassing” Live Performance At 2025 “Melon Music Awards”
G-Dragon was one of the most talked-about names heading into the 2025 Melon Music Awards, with fans eagerly waiting to see his return to the stage. However, instead of praise, his performance has sparked a wave of criticism among Korean netizens.

The BIGBANG member dominated the night in terms of awards, winning three major Daesangs, including Song of the Year, Artist of the Year, and Album of the Year, along with several other trophies recognizing his work as a songwriter and producer.

Expectations were high when he took the stage to perform recent tracks such as POWER, HOME SWEET HOME, and DRAMA.
Despite the strong setlist, many viewers felt the stage itself fell short.
Many suggest that the performance lacked live vocals, with some accusing G-Dragon of relying more on gestures, poses, and stage presence rather than actually singing.

- “He’s openly not singing at all… is this really okay…?”
- “What’s going on with GD’s voice/throat?”
- “I honestly think GD would be much better off promoting as part of a group.”
- “I listened with earphones and it sounded fine to me. And since Crooked was done in more of a ‘let’s just have fun’ mode, the live audience reaction was good too.”
- “It’s not even a stage where he’s actually singing, it’s just finger miming, adjusting his sunglasses, and striking poses. I seriously wonder if this even counts as a singer’s performance. There are songs where he doesn’t sing at all. Fans shouldn’t be applauding this; they should genuinely be telling GD to rest.”
- “It’s so somber that it’s awkward to watch. Passing the mic to other singers is honestly kind of cringe.”
Meanwhile, G-Dragon faced similar scrutiny and backlash following his performance at the 2025 MAMA Awards as well. You can read more about it below.
