Lim Ji Yeon Expresses Hopes For "The Tale Of Lady Ok" Season 2, Excitement For "Fresh Off The Sea," And More
Lim Ji Yeon has graced the cover of the March issue of the fashion magazine Cosmopolitan Korea!
The cover and pictorial concept were inspired by the duality of strength and softness found in Lim Ji Yeon’s on-screen characters. From a powerfully charismatic suit to a bold red dress and a lovely pink dress, Lim Ji Yeon effortlessly transformed with each outfit.
In an accompanying interview, Lim Ji Yeon discussed her recent hit drama “The Tale of Lady Ok.” With nearly a month having passed since the drama’s conclusion, she was asked if she had been able to let go of her character Goo Deok. “Honestly, it was tough for a while,” she admitted.
She remarked, “The filming wrapped long before the drama aired, but watching it felt like I was still on set. I poured so much love into Goo Deok that the feelings still lingered inside of me. But after some time off, I finally managed to let her go.” She also expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support from viewers. “This was the first time I received such passionate concern along with the love. People were genuinely worried about what would happen to Goo Deok and whether she would get caught up in something even worse. It was fascinating and deeply touching.”
When asked what the drama means to her, she shared, “Whenever I face difficult moments as an actress, I think I’ll rewatch this drama. ‘The Tale of Lady Ok’ is like a book filled with Goo Deok’s journey, but at the same time, it’s like a diary that holds my sincere dedication to portraying her.”
Given the drama’s popularity, many fans are eagerly anticipating a second season. Lim Ji Yeon revealed her own hopes, saying, “I even asked the writer, ‘Are we not doing a Season 2? I really want to do a Season 2!’ I think it would be amazing to showcase [Goo Deok] as a traveling lawyer in the Joseon era.”
Having taken on intense roles in “The Glory,” “Lies Hidden in My Garden,” and most recently “The Tale of Lady Ok,” Lim Ji Yeon reflected on her evolving outlook. “I used to think I had to show a completely different side of myself in every project. But now, my goal has changed—I want to be an actress people want to keep watching. Constantly taking on new and unconventional challenges isn’t the only answer. Lately, I’ve been feeling drawn to brighter, more approachable roles. I believe maintaining balance is key to a long-lasting career.”
Lim Ji Yeon is also gearing up for a new challenge as she is set to appear in Season 2 of the hit variety show “Fresh off the Sea.” She shared her excitement, saying, “I was already a huge fan of the show, and I also wanted to show my real self outside of acting. I don’t necessarily have any greed to do variety shows—it’s more like [I joined] because I want to enjoy the experience and recharge myself. I want to work hard on-site, sweat it out, and have fun interacting with people—just being myself.”
