NJZ (NewJeans)’ Danielle is earning praise after fans discovered photos of her quietly participating in a coal briquette delivery volunteer activity — an annual winter tradition in Korea to help low-income households stay warm.
The images, which surfaced on X (Twitter) through fan-taken posts, show Danielle bundled up in casual clothes, wearing gloves and carrying stacks of coal briquettes alongside other volunteers.
She personally carried the heavy briquettes on her back as she climbed steep stairs. Many low-income families live in daldongnes, or houses built on hills, which are inconvenient to travel to and from. Coal briquettes are a way they stay warm without heating technology.
Fans were stunned, as the activity was never officially announced by her company, suggesting Danielle participated purely out of personal intention, not as a promotional schedule. The unexpected photos quickly went viral with fans reacting.
